#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Millers River Environmental Center Mural via Zoom
The first thing, I open my eyes, and the sky out my window is bright blue and cloudless. No breakfast to make today. Wave has a medical appointment this morning and no school. I help them get out for his appointment on time. Then I do housework before my brief walk. The brook is full of the reflection of blue sky and I feel cheerful as I take my swim. And rush to my Charles River writers. I have a great prompt. It’s a great workshop. And then I quickly eat before the Israeli group. Passover is in the air. Coming Saturday. I learn about the intense cleaning involved as preparation for the holiday that some do. This afternoon I walk with my youngest in the spring woods, a little muddy. Lots of birdsong, and the sky still blue. Oh, there was ice on the brook this morning. Just on the edge. It had melted by afternoon. Her birthday is tomorrow, and I hope her present arrives by Friday when we celebrate with the family, including Wave. After walking I give her a shoulder rub. Tight tight neck loosened. I like to use my hands to help with healing. Tonight I worked on my manuscript by attending a zoom event in Athol––a birding club presentation on woodpeckers that was held in person and via zoom at the Millers River Environmental Center in Athol. I just know I will make something of this for my manuscript. I learned a lot about woodpeckers. I’m excited to see what comes of it—as poetry. Frank won his second match toward reaching the playoffs in tennis. Hooray!
