This writing generative workshop will explore the theme of the grandmothers we are descended from, the grandmothers we are, or even the grandmothers who have influenced us through literature, fairy tale and myth. Using prompts of personal photos, objects, and memory, you will explore writing projects in poetry, prose, memoir, monologue and more. We’ll write to break silences, explore feelings about “grandmother” and express the complex influences of grandmothers on our lives. Revision and craft will be explored for those who are developing specific projects. New and experienced writers are welcome.
