Fruit Basket

It’s so cheerful, the blue, when I open my eyes to sky. First thing I see. I was excited to work on the poem from attending the woodpecker talk on Zoom last night. And got right to it. Hard to break from it, but wouldn’t miss my swim. So I skipped a walk. In between appointments today I worked on the poem. How it will fit in the manuscript isn’t entirely clear. But feel right about what it’s getting at. And of course, it’s my daughter’s birthday. My youngest, Franci. So I rounded up photos of her to post on Facebook. We played pickle tonight: Frank, Franci, Will and me as a Thursday night birthday treat. Tomorrow, her birthday dinner. Saturday egg hunt with Wave. I bought dozens of plastic eggs and candy to put into them. So I must find time to fill the eggs tomorrow. Out to dinner with Franci, Will and both my daughters after pickle. Frank went on to play tennis. It was sweet to go out in the middle of the week on a weeknight with them. And ice cream after! My birthday girl’s series of celebrations for her birthday has begun.
