Morning on the Charles

After Wave leaves for school I go out to the river where there is a weak sun shining. It’s muddy on the trail. Spring mud, of course. The mallards are quacking. A heron is startled from the shore as I pass. I have my swim. Then, three groups today: Ukrainian, then a playback group, then tonight my photo-inspired writing workshop. I had planned to pick up Wave from school to go to Kingsbury for our weekly swim, but I got my time wrong for the playback workshop I was invited to. I thought I would miss our swim entirely, and then it worked out that we got to go! He was happy and I was happier. Also Mikey and Squirt were invited by Wave to join us. We had to race up the sidewalk to the club, and the little runner beat me badly. I mean, I’m not letting him win anymore! I made a point, in the pool, that I can still out swim him. We have so much fun in the pool. He learned how to do a summersault! A very delightful group tonight of writers, very moving. Frank home tomorrow. I’m very tired, but listening to some news, hoping to hear that Elon Musk is unable to purchase an election in Wisconsin.
