#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Fudgy welcomes me home
Wave and I and his mother awake before the rooster crows at the break of dawn. It’s dark out, 5:00 a.m. {Which means it’s 2:00 a.m. for me, West Coast time!) But he is happy I’m home, happy I’m awake, and so am I. Ready to play. And we play before dipping eggs and getting him off to school––on time. I get to drive him, and talk the whole way. We check in with Mikey & Squirt, who are also glad I’m home. I miss Charlie. I feel his absence strongly after this trip. Which means, really, I feel his presence, then realize he’s absent. So strange. I walk to the river which is calm and still. Except for pair of mallards lifting off from the bank. Under clouds, and fairly moist and warm air. I only have time for a short walk before a swim. At the brook, the water level is so much lower than when I left. We need rain. One pair of mallards paddles away from me. I have a busy day. Poetry workshop, my poem is very well received. I’m grateful. The supermarket, of course. Wave has requested Grammy’s pizza. So, I do a shop before a client. I am having a hard time keeping my eyes open. So, yes, a long, long nap in the late afternoon. Delicious. I have the energy to attack dishes in the kitchen, the food to be unpacked from bags, and the pizza to be made. Success! It’s spring. Inside and out. Then after dinner, my poetry friends and I share a different poem-new-from the manuscript, and it too is well received. I’ve accomplished, this past week, some goals with it. Now onward to new poems tomorrow. Frank still away. We haven’t seen each other since he left for Paris two weeks ago. I think I will sleep well.
