I have bought white tulips for my daughter’s birthday. I leave them where she will find them. I go for a wonderful swim, full of energy. It’s later in the morning that I walk, with both my daughters, at the birthday girl’s favorite place: the grounds of Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in the town next door. That’s where I take this picture of the trees reflecting in the pond. We have a nice wander and chat about her birthday. Then we part; she will pick up Wave at school. We buy her a balloon bouquet so Wave can surprise her with it.

Oh my goodness the moon! Rising over the river tonight! I have gotten a lot of work done today on upcoming classes. I have been sleeping with the window open. It’s warming up. I love the cool air coming in from the woods. Tomorrow we celebrate the birthday with dinner. How lucky I am to be her mother. And grandmother of the son she brought into this world. This is a favorite picture of her, with our beloved Suzi.
