#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Morning Brook
An easy going and quiet Thursday. A walk and a swim. Lots to do and nothing scheduled but tea with my friend in Wellesley, late afternoon. My friend, Liz, from Ojai, who is visiting her son and his family nearby. A lovely chance to connect, catch up, and talk about my play, which she recently performed in. Toss around some ideas. The sun was out past six o’clock! I felt the cheeriness of spring! Frank and I both in and free tonight, unusual. So we had a long talk about things. Good talk. Almost always on the same page. The present, the future. New ideas. New adventures. New possibilities. It was fun to think and listen to each other. My daughter Perri’s birthday tomorrow. Wave will come home after school and I will have flowers and balloons ready for him to present to her as he has been away. I will help him make things special for his mother. No writing today, as I had hoped. But things accomplished. I am lost in Henry James’––rereading (listening) to Portrait of a Lady. My de-stressing activity. Getting lost in an American classic novel. That' I’ve read before but have forgotten well enough to enjoy a re-visit. I do read the news. I do talk about the news. But I also need to escape from my worries and frustrations and rage about the news and let good literature, well imagined novels distract me and relax me.
