#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
And the time change effects are resolved. No difficulty rising. A day of energy and zest. A walk, and then a swim. Fresh air, a warming and melting. The boy, easy out the door. Good cheer. The dogs, a felt absence. A day for catching up with emails. Making notes on people’s writing. A writing client. The sun blasting in through the windows. A cloudless sky. Chaotic domestic and world news and all the feelings that go with that. And back to work. And then off in the afternoon. Tuesdays are my day to take Wave to the pool. He is eager. He makes me promise there are no stops. Straight to the pool! And lots of games and conversation on the way. This is happiness. To have a chatty and funny 4 year old in the back seat who is happy and wants to swim with me. And that’s what we do. He wants to meet the pretty young lifeguard. We must ask her name. Her name is Maeve. Rhymes with Wave. He is full of rhymes, he can make them now. I must make him a pizza when we get home. Because I make the best pizza and the best chocolate chip cookies. These are talents I am happy to be known for by him. Talents he’ll remember always, attribute to me. Tonight my Tuesday night writers, as always, rich and deep. He interrupts me. Wanting second dinner. With strawberries. I want strawberries at bedtime too.
