Up since 5:00 a.m. A great choice. Frank woke up to run his Step meeting, and I rose with him. I wanted some quiet time to write my weekly substack to subscribers, and also my other weekly blog. I spent over two hours doing this, and then I felt terrific. The wonderful day ahead with family and friends, and an early morning with writers, my readers. I love getting to be in both places at once. We played pickle, me, Frank, Franci, Will in the hot sun, and I am getting used to it. Franci and Will were tough competition for me and Frank, though. It was good to laugh and play and fight a bit. In the afternoon I did something new that was fun. We rented an All Terrain Vehicle, which many use around these dirt roads of Nosara. Borrowed one from Po & Geoff, and me and Frank, Franci and Will went off on a small adventure. My first time on the back of one, holding onto Frank. It was hot and dusty and tiring, but I loved seeing the river, the families relaxing and playing, the snowy egret, and especially the small herds of cows being herded past us on the road. I crashed when we got home. A long nap. Then I let everyone go into town to watch the superbowl at a restaurant while I worked on my poem for tomorrow. Done! Now it’s time to get up and go to bed. Wiped out and grateful. And looking forward to tomorrow. But every minute also missing you know who.
