Morning Current

Out earlier, a walk before bright sun. Today was overcast. A fresh, happy walk after an early wake-up. I am continuing with Thomas Hardy. Jude the Obscure is a fine novel. I was mistaken, I have not read this before. But I am placing it fourth in my recent Hardy binge, after Tess, first, Far From the Madding Crowd, 2nd, Return of the Native, 3rd. It’s very relaxing to listen to. And I am steering away from listening to daily news podcasts which brings me stress. I’m not on a news blackout. I’m just trying to pace myself and not take in more than I can stand in a single day. I had a very worthwhile craft workshop and was very pleased with my revision. I want to generate five new poems for the manuscript while I’m here. I had that thought today. Not sure how realistic it is. But I had that thought. Best part of today: seeing Wave on Zoom. There was a lot of hopping around and him playing with the camera so I couldn’t see him. But I know he was delighted to see me and kissed the video screen. Yes! For me. I know he misses me. So, it was a mixed blessing. My heart is craving tie with him. Two walks and a long swim in the surf at sunset. My nephew and his girlfriend are here! A blazing sunset with pink clouds, the sky going deep orange, and the moon almost full, rising in the sky as the sun dropped.
