#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
I got up right at the alarm––5:00 a.m., and I had fantasized about having time for a walk or a swim before leaving. Not quite. I did have time to pack, and that was about it. Frank drove me to the shuttle and I had a quite smooth, easy and fun trip to Kansas City. Met my friend Jenny at the airport, and the plane might well have been chartered by AWP (The Association of Writers and Writer’s Programs) because there were so many of us writers on this Delta, direct flight. We all got to talking and the wait to board flew by. The flight got in early! So, tonight I am at the hotel after a busy and interesting day. I ran my Play Lab from the hotel room after arriving, because it’s the last lab before our Monologue Showcase that’s going to be Sunday night on Zoom, and we have a terrific line-up of writers and actors. Tonight, Jenny and I walked to a nearby off-site venue reading: Poets for Palestine and grabbed a bite to eat. It was my first walk of the day as evening came on. The reading was a packed house with a very strong line-up of poets. It was very deeply moving. I have had videos from home featuring Wave. I have been too busy and involved here to be homesick. And Jenny is a wonderful roomate as we end this busy day.
