#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

It gets hot so quickly in the morning. Up at 5:00 a.m. with Frank and it’s cool and dark, a splendidly starlit early morning sky above us. This is such a sweet time of day, the quiet house. How well we all share this space together. I set off by 6 for the beach and walk alone today across Playa Palada to Playa Guiones and after about 3 miles of walking stop to take a lovely dip in a tide pool. The surfers are out; there are always some. I head back, home for breakfast and then running my final group of the week, my Charles River Writers which is very stimulating. Now it’s time to food shop! I drive with my friend the dirt roads to the market. Market is not air conditioned, it’s dusty and too hot and we fill our carts with everything we need. Dinner at home tonight. I have so few chores to do here. In the afternoon, four of us women roll our yoga mats out in the yoga shala to listen to a meditation on St. Brigid iBecause our friend who is Irish tells us Ireland is having, today, their first national holiday celebrating her.

She is a patroness saint of Ireland (and one of its three national saints), as well as of healers, poets, blacksmiths, livestock and dairy workers, among others. ~ Wikipedia

We go to the beach to watch sunset; where all the action is at this time of day. And home to make dinner, all of us contributing something to the meal of salad and garlic bread, portobello mushrooms and sauteed chicken. Cooking in community is a pleasure, even when we are bumping into each other. It’s a happy chaos in the kitchen and then the meal is served.
