#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Again the 5:00 a.m. alarm and I am eager to rise. These mornings are too special to waste. I go to the beach when it’s light, and my friend goes with me, down the rocky dirt path, and down the rocky dirt road, and past the lovely banana tree and the beautiful abundant bamboo. Soon we are on Playa Palada. The rush of this spectacle of ocean and waves! We walk and meet our other friend coming in the other direction. Not as long a walk today; we have coffee, croissants, conversation at a local coffee shop built in a bus. I walk the beach back by myself and up the road and the path and then I have the quiet house; alone in the casa for the first time. I proof my manuscript. I feel anxious. I feel happy I feel anxious. I have lots of feelings and doubts and also confidence. I get through it and send my changes off after a good conversation with my publisher. Strange to be, after all these months, over a year, proofing and finalizing this project here. [Ha! I just got interrupted by news from the household—a scorpion cross the kitchen floor! It’s been contained in the laundry room!] Hmmm. Well, I’m sure the meaning of this visitor at this moment will soon be revealed. I got a second beach walk, a sunset swim with Frank which was fun and lovely; but came very close to being hit in the head by a surf board from a surfer. Quite relieved to have missed any injuries today.
