Alarm wakes me up, it’s time to see who else is up, or needs to be. I offer the boy breakfast. He says, yes, and make sure to get some for Papa too. Frank is feeling better today. I help them get out the door for school with egg sandwich and hot chocolate and apple juice for the ride. Then I have my swim. Frost frost frost. It’s quite chilly. But not in the pool, which is less busy and I have a great hour in the pool. Poetry workshop in the morning, and poetry workshop in the evening, and I share the same poem in both places. I’m very pleased with this poem, and I get helpful feedback. I have taken Charles to the vet with my daughter; he has a tick borne illness and is on an antibiotic. Relieved that his problem is treatable. We’ll get him feeling better quickly. And I have a special request for dinner: my delicious chicken. So, we stop at the grocery store and it’s a lovely dinner; everyone at the table except Frank. Great conversations about our days, our daily practice of going around, Wave gets to pick who shares the best thing about or day. And, sometimes, the worst thing. It’s a mixed bag some days, but most days have something worth sharing about. Tonight, we are having fun, wrestling and doing “yoga” when he somehow, bizarrely, gets stung on my bedroom couch by a hornet! How in heaven’s name did a hornet get on my couch???? He’s a good sport about it. But, OUCH!
