A cheerful boy comes in my room just as I am getting up. Wants to do yoga! I am glad to see his cheerful face, but I must have coffee. He is cheerful, so happy, starting his day. And so am I. Off for my swim, another great one. And a short walk with Charleston before an appointment. I have more poem revision tonight; giving myself a deadline that I miss. Tomorrow will be fine. Writing webinar tonight. There is always so much to love about October––when the sun comes, especially as it did today. Tonight as I’m in the kitchen getting dinner ready, the boy comes in and says quietly, Come here, I want to show you something. Sounds important. I don’t want to miss whatever it is. I follow him into the dining room. He points out the window, up to the sky that’s turning the clouds pink, and there, above the pine tress is the white moon rising, not quite full. A wonderful role reversal. He wants to be the one showing the beautiful thing outdoors. And when his aunt comes in, he shows her too. It’s the Hunter’s Moon, full on Saturday.
