#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
After Sunset
The nice feeling, tonight, of retiring early from our dinner party, due to exhaustion, and hearing the happy voices in the next room enjoying the evening. I am where I need to be. Laryngitis is lingering and I didn’t sleep very well and need this extra rest. But I had a busy day, starting six a.m., of course. The household was up and about; some off to tennis. I went down my dirty road path to Playa Palada and had my long beach walk and dip before going back up the dirt road/hill. A fun time exploring these dirt roads and learning my way around this area. I worked until the afternoon, prepping for groups and returning e-mails. I was delighted to be invited by Dodge Literary Journal to be a featured poet at their AWP event in Seattle in March (Association of Writers and Writing programs annual convention). And, of course, my newest collection will launch with my good friends at Lily Poetry Review books, and I’ll have a signing with them. Getting my flight and hotel set for Seattle. And, wonderfully, my publisher wrote and says there is a proof of my book to look at! In the afternoon Frank and I went down to the beach together, met our friend, and had a lovely afternoon swim in the ocean. A nap before the spectacle of sunset from the comfort of a chaise lounge with friends.
