Awake at 3, couldn’t sleep; my alarm set for 3:45 to get ready for a departure from home to the Martha’s Vineyard Ferry for the 6:30 a.m. boat. Made it! Rain all the way, rain all morning, rain into early afternoon. Happy to be here on the Island despite that. Highlight of my day: a swim with my brother in the Atlantic. The water so cold! Five degrees colder than Farm Pond? And now, I am so sleepy from a day full of activities. Falling asleep as I write. . .
