#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
In the wetlands habitat
Last day of a messy January. Up to make Wave breakfast and school lunch but his mother gave him a day off for good reasons. So, his breakfast was big and leisurely: egg sandwich AND pancakes and banana. This boy is about to have a growth spurt, I predict. So cheerful and loving this morning. Especially so. I walked in the wetlands, refreshed my spirit, swam and then had a busy day getting caught up on a lot of things. No writing, but one of my best hours today was coaching a new client on a monologue draft she’s working on. it was a very fruitful session and very engaging, for both of us. It poured all day and slicked all the remnants of ice and my daughter took a fall on the flagstone, landing on her knee. It was so so so slick where you couldn’t even tell it was! Every patch of ice on the driveway a danger zone. And it rains and rains and rains still tonight. So black and chilly and soaking. The house is quiet, except for the heavy rain hitting the windows and roof. We enter February tomorrow. Played pickle tonight with my kids and it was very fun. Oh! My aunt called me and told me how much she enjoyed passing out my snickerdoodles! So they arrived safely. And she said she gave two cookies to her favorite friend. A woman who is over 100. I’m so glad I have discovered how easy it is to priority mail a batch of homemade cookies. They have arrived safely to all who have received them, and mostly quickly too. I wish I could have gotten out to see my aunt this week in person. But I’m glad my cookies could. Goodnight rain. Goodbye January.
