Chappy Ferry from Edgartown

Last night in Chappie. A lovely day, long bike, long walk by the sea in the deep, deep sand. Progress on my play. My daughter and I cross over to Edgartown in the late morning and go to the Behind the Bookstore cafe. Coffee and reading my script, out loud. She read the younger character, I the older. Nobody noticed or cared. It was noisy. But our reading was super productive. She had some excellent suggestions, many of which I’ll take. The play is expanding in the ways it needs to. I hope to have time tomorrow, amidst packing and exiting, to integrate all of our conversations. I’m very lucky to have this collaboration. Tonight we walked to the ferry from the house where we met Frank, and we kept talking and talking about the play.
