Relief, and elation. Revised my play today. Added new pages. Sat down and started writing. I felt the play improving, Moving into more depth, clarity. I hear these two women’s voices so clearly, it’s like transcribing. The osprey are wonderful to watch in the morning out at Wasque where I rode my bike then walked along the trail to see the birds on one side, the wild surf on the other. And before that, took Charlie and Miss Brittany out for a walk. Brittany lagged and lagged so I took her home and went off, just me and Charlie, to the meadow over the mossy trail. I will miss this mossy trail. Very Septembery cool with the clearest of skies. We did not go to the beach, but in the late afternoon the four of us rode the trail out to Wasque. I was the guide, as the one who has found this beautiful way, and they followed. Frank and I to Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse tonight for a charming, funny, sweet musical. Our front row seats in the cozy theater. How fun it was. Billy Balou. Tomorrow, is it really? The last day of August?
