#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Morning Brook

Okay, I need to move a garden. The one by the outdoor shower. I was weeding that area and cutting back some thorns when Frank came out and said he needs to knock a wall, the one behind my garden, out to put in French doors. I disagreed. I balked. I resisted. Then, I agreed. I see the wisdom of it and his vision. So, he bulldozed the other side of the lawn from my small garden and I will move the plants to the other side. The French doors will go in next to the shower. And the positive side, for me, is that I will be able to look out at the garden while in the shower. Now we are both in agreement. I weeded like crazy this weekend. It was pleasantly hot and sunny today, but the ground and the plants have stayed pretty damp from the rain. I didn’t water. I revised a poem. I got an acceptance on an image I took last summer on Martha’s Vineyard, (and also received two rejections). Tonight, I read grandmother-themed poems in a virtual salon sponsored by the Transformative Language Arts Network. Frank came and really appreciated the poems––he hadn’t heard any of them. Happy to have Wave home, even though he isn’t feeling well.
