#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Awake with a sense of a big to-do list today, and no lingering. Tonight, as I write, I am preoccupied with the news since we had company and now, in bed, able to catch up on the dramatic event of the evening, the shootings at the Trump rally. Very disturbing. A lot to take in following such a pleasurable evening with friends. And an afternoon at a baby shower for my niece was so celebratory and pleasant and cheerful. My head is spinning with this news and how to digest it, like every other American. Still, I had a lovely monarch in the milkweed this morning after the heavy rain and after Frank helped me with some stones in the garden by the bench. How fast the monarchs fly! And the baby bird still hasn’t made it’s way back to the nest. The mother nearby, trying to help. I distanced myself. All morning cleaning, prepping for company, getting the food ready for tonight before going to the shower. Lovely to be with my daughters for the shower celebrating my niece and nephew. Then, a lovely night, eating outdoors before the mosquitos. No time for a swim today, but certainly tomorrow. I am still hoping the baby bird gets the help it needs to return home safely.
