#NewThisDayWriting From My Photo Stream
Out and straight to the garden. Was there a disturbance?????
I open the gate, check the new plants, the ones that are not behind chicken wire in their boxes. All clear! No bunnies made it into the garden last night! So, I think the problem must actually have been with the exterior fence, which Frank also fixed. So there, now I cheerfully work in the garden for half the day. A daughter joins me for a bit, and Frank joins me for a lot. We work happily all morning in the full sunshine. I weed the area where Wave’s sandbox and toys are so Frank can re-mulch it. We finish the planing: pumpkin and butternut squash, yellow squash, zucchini. Done. And I plant, by seed, my sunflowers, coneflowers and Frank rototills an area of the field where we seed with wildflowers. It’s a very satisfying morning. I take a short swim. In the afternoon I work a bit, and nap a bit. Tonight I feel happy going off to sleep, trusting the bunnies will not be in the garden. And trusting the seeds are moist and dark under the dirt, readying themselves to grow.
