#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
The buds are on the Japanese maple in sunlight. I woke early to swim before driving my grandson to school and then driving to Connecticut. I arranged for my aunt to get the shuttle from Avon to Farmington and met them for lunch at my uncle’s with a pizza I knew they’d enjoy. They did! We had such a great chat, the three of us, and I was able to give my uncle a lot of hugs and love and I know he appreciates it. Then I drove my aunt back to her place in Avon, met with my client on zoom from my car, and drove home. All of it worthwhile. A sunny day, easy driving, and lots of great podcasts, including the New Yorker Poetry Podcast, and I particularly appreciated listening to Ada Limon read and discuss a phenomenal poem that knocked the top of my head off by Carrie Fountain, “You Belong to the World.” So, I had plenty of poetry to chew on, from here to there, and I had an idea for a poem and maybe I’ll draft it tomorrow after a good night’s rest.
