Snowy morning on the Charles

Well, it was a mild storm, after all. Barely an inch of accumulation. A quiet snow day here. Wave home from school, so lots of playing. And we celebrated Valentine’s Day early at dinner tonight because he will be gone tomorrow. I made the sugar cookie dough this morning, and put it in fridge, Franci picked up the dough later, cut the cookies, baked and frosted them deliciously. I made chicken marsala and my son joined us and it was quite festive and a little chaotic. Wave got a new toy (from me) — a toy cash register for a grocery store and he was quite thrilled with this, and the cookies. We all enjoyed the cookies. The snow turned to mush in the late afternoon, and Wave and I had a snowball fight while Charlie looked on in concern. I had a wonderful swim this morning. Tomorrow I have set my alarm for 5:00 a.m. because I need to make my ferry reservations for August on Martha’s Vineyard. Yawn. I really need some sleep.
