#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

In the wetlands

I have felt so happy and lighthearted today. Moving through issues, resolving feelings. Lovely to have a day of feeling rested, optimistic. Just feeling all good, despite winter and all the slippery breakability. After my lovely swim, my mile, I went into the icy wetlands with Charlie. Boot-skated around. We have had such freezing weather. Still could not quite make it to the tent as I was a little anxious about the ice under my feet. Not that I was in danger of falling in––water only up to my thighs, perhaps. But I don’t like to break the beautiful ice. I don’t like to disturb it. I like to see images in it. Notice today from a journal that they will publish two of my recent ice images, which was nice. It makes me happy that they are appreciated and featured. I worked on my poem, the one I have been rewriting and tweaking. Mostly I like the changes. Still tweaking the ending. Dinner tonight with family, including my son, which was a treat. Wave not home yet, and we miss him, but hope to see him tomorrow. A lovely part of the day was having tea at Nirvana in Millis with my dear friend and the chance to linger and really catch up. I am listening to a memoir by Leslie Jamison on Audible that has been out for awhile: The Recovering. I’ve listened to so many excellent riveting books this year, I’m still longing to read something of the highest caliber. This is a good book, and it’s holding my interest, but not thrilling me.
