#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

We were anchored all night and slept with our cabin door open to the sea. I was awake a lot, and didn’t mind. These are such special moments, to be on the water in this small ship on the Adriatic sea. We had the chance for a swim first thing this morning, after coffee, before breakfast and departure. Of course, Po and I jumped right in and had a nice swim. I was lingering, and swimming around the boat when Frank and others started whistling and waving to me from the upper deck––we were departing. Well, I’m glad I didn’t get left behind! Today was a long cruising day and I napped through our second chance to swim, but everyone said it was overcast and nobody went in. (I would have!) It was overcast and quiet on the ship. Clara gave all of us an introduction to the Alexander Technique which was lovely and restful. Otherwise, I read, napped and we had long conversations at meals. Finally, we were able to dock at around 7:00 and we all got off the boat and many of us climbed this lovely stone city’s steps up and up and up to the old fort with the herb garden and fabulous view. Then we climbed down for a lovely dinner in a courtyard restaurant. Such a restful and lovely day, with two more to come. Everyone on board is cheerful, interesting, friendly, happy, pleasant. Tonight we are docked in a line of six ships; we are one of the smallest, and you cut through all the ships that are closer to the dock than you are. This is a very touristy city, but we had fun in the bustle and noise. Now, our cabin is quite quiet and we will sleep.
