#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Today was the day the maple wings flew like flakes of snow to the ground from the trees. Little pink wings all over the ground and in the air. It was a special mother’s day. No swim, because there was no reservation. Waited too long. I stayed home to write my weekly Aim for Astonishing email. So, I went for a walk before Frank and I picked the special one up. Lots of joy, in the sunny yard. I did a bit of gardening, but mostly had to be indoors working on shuffling bedrooms. Another closet cleaned! I’m grateful I had the energy this weekend to get so much organizing done. The plants have not gotten planted in the garden yet. As a treat, my youngest and I went for a pedicure in the late afternoon, which was just what I needed. I felt like making dinner. My mother’s (Julia Child’s) chicken in wine, because I knew it would please all of us, and especially the special one. And I was right. We had a delicious, happy dinner, and I felt very appreciated––and uncluttered.
