#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

So much red in the woods––the maples. Trucks blocking the driveway. A day of tree cutting and trimming and clean-up. Beeping noises as they back up. Grinding noises as they cut. Disturbance in the yard, but a good kind, as they trees will be better for it. The heron is in her spot on the river each morning and leaps into flight. Everything feels so lively. No swim today. A busy day, a lot of Zoom, but lots worthwhile. Poetry with peers and excitement about my new poem being so well received. I work after that for two to three hours on my new manuscript, meet with Vanessa, have a deep and rewarding session––expansive. In the late afternoon, I go outdoors to be with the special one in the yard and relax after so many concentrated and seated hours. Thank goodness for this lovely time of buttercups and violets low in the new grass and fat dandelions and two, not just one, big frogs in the pond to watch and admire. And time at the brook, throwing rocks for Charlie, dipping sticks into the muck. Charlie is so happy diving under for his rocks! After I feed the special one some dinner, he crawls into my lap and falls asleep on my shoulder. Daylight has outlasted him today.
