February 15, early morning beach
Awake at 2:00 a.m. Restless and alert for departure. At 3:45 I get up. Time to take my friend up the street to meet her airport transportation to the airport. Frank gets up too, and we drive her the little way down the street to meet the van. And off she goes. We drive down to the beach. It’s quite black and the breeze is delicious. We walk a ways under the quarter moon at low tide. It’s so black and quiet. Our goodbye to the beach. Back at the casa, I am packed, so I take a lovely early swim as the day lights up; moon above me still. And by 7:00 a.m. Frank and I depart with my other friend, leaving our friends in the casa. We are on our way. After the cow in the road moves so we can get by! The rest of the day goes smoothly; the drive to the airport, the wait for our plane. The goodbye to our dear friends who heads to the west coast, while we head back to the east coast. Now, home after midnight, it’s actually a new day. Charlie meets us at the door! My handsome boy is glad we’re home. And my daughter’s boyfriend is awake and greets us too. It is good to be home. I will wake in the woods by the river with Charlie.
