#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

The pool is nearly vacant and I feel a lot of peace in my swim. I have started listening to a new memoir, having finished Trust. Now listening to How to Say Babylon: A Memoir by : Safiya Sinclair. I like to think about the books I’m reading and the dreams I am having and the poems I am writing and the workshops I’m preparing while I am doing my laps. In the woods, I am hoping for the picture that will enrich my day. There is still color in the trees that’s glowing in the brook. I try to capture that. I am really enjoying working with the writers in my fall play lab, and spend time today assigning the scripts to actors. It’s going to be a powerful showcase. It’s so satisfying to be part of this storytelling, the breakthroughs. The surprises. My day gets very busy in the late afternoon. I’m grateful for a visit from a friend I haven’t seen in a bit, and I manage to make dinner, with the help of others, even though I cannot sit down and eat with the family. I have an appointment, and then I host the Journal of Expressive Writing Open Mic, featuring author Amy Ferris, and her new book, Mighty Gorgeous.

We have a powerful evening, she brings lots of hope and inspiration. My grandson interrupted my Zoom. He wanted to do yoga with me as we do in the evenings. And, after I was done, we had a good time rolling around on the floor. The best way to end this day. Downward dog and child pose. God bless all the children in Israel and Gaza. God bless all the children who need our concern and care and attention.
