#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

“The ability to feel the anger and convey it to others is itself the transformative experience for many women. Women’s anger spurs creativity and drives innovation in politics and social change, and it always has.”
— from Good and Mad: The Revolutionary Power of Women's Anger by Rebecca Traister
There is hot bright sun and a request by the Special One to go into the woods on my back. There is nowhere I’d rather be. The hobbyists are flying their model planes in the searing hot meadow. We watch them dip and glide and rise and land. Charlie gets hot, we must move on. Then, Frank and I go to Farm Pond with the Special One and play in the water and sand as all the toddlers come with their families at this time of day. I take a good swim myself while there. In the afternoon I prepare for my poetry reading online with Synkroniciti Soiree. It’s a wonderful reading, with four other poets. Every one of us, in her own way, makes a reference to the outrage of the Supreme Court decision yesterday. It’s a burning issue for those who are in this country, and those who are not. This was an International audience. The fury I feel comes in waves. My daughter picked our first summer squash from the garden this morning. Frank cooked them for dinner. Deliciously home grown.
