My son sent me this poem in a link a few days ago, and it wasn’t until tonight that I had a chance to follow the link and read it. Wow. Bowled me over. The poem, yes, but even more, the idea that my son heard it and thought of me and knew how much I would appreciate it. My son doesn’t read a lot of poetry. But this one grabbed him and he knew how much it would grab me too. So, late as it is, and after a filled full day, starting with my Ukrainian friends and ending with my photo-inspired writing friends, I am juiced with joy about the power of words, the power of poetry, the power of intimacy, and the satisfaction of feeling understood.
