Tree out my morning window

Will I sleep tonight! The waning moon, risen in the sky, leans through my new bedroom window at the top of the wall. And I am drunk with excitement from a wonderful day. This tree from my window in autumn splendor, a start. And my walk in the woods. And my anticipation and preparation: Charles River Writers workshop, here this morning. And tonight, the monologue showcase! And all the rehearsing in between, and the welcoming my dear friend Liz Rose, who lives in Ojai, California, but is in the area and so, just like old times, when we collaborated for Playwrights Platform, raising our kids together, having our kids act in our plays, Liz acting in mine, the fun we had. And so, tonight, I was in my new bedroom on Zoom in the showcase, and Liz was downstairs on Zoom in Frank’s office, where we used to rehearse, and Franci was in her room, and the show went on, and my friend Tonya from Florida acted, and Franci’s friend from Lesley, Jamila acted. And eleven writers had their work performed in front of a large audience on Zoom. What a day! What a night! And somehow, I got all my stuff moved out of the guest room and packed for a trip and my goodness. I need to sleep a bit before the pre-dawn flight, but will I? Who cares!?
