Charles River Tree
“Trees still grow after letting dead things go.”
― Darnell Lamont Walker
A day of tired body. I took my walk slow and didn’t push myself. Stood another the lovely trees by the river. A busy day. It was pouring at first. What a storm in the night, well, the dark morning before dawn, the field full of thunder and lightning, poor dogs. Then, it cleared and stayed cool. I worked on revising two poems today; one for a monthly workshop I’m in, this afternoon, and one for tomorrow. A lot of workshops this week, all worthwhile. I am grateful to be in bed early, just after dark. The early dark of almost autumn. Windows wide open and the damp cool air and coming in.
