#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Excerpt from “Late August Evening,” by Ori Soltes
In my office tonight I took this picture of the violets in full bloom. Frank gave me this plant some months ago. It’s thriving in this spot where I work. I have weeded today the most troublesome garden in the center of the circular driveway. So overgrown and poison ivy vines running where they will to trick me. I have managed to elude them so far. In the late afternoon I planted all the new plants and watered them all: the hostas and cone flowers and a few others. My walk this morning was with my dear friend and her dog in the woods, catching up. The first thing I did this morning: wish my older brother a happy birthday through a sibling text. I am so fortunate to have an older brother and an older sister and a younger sister and a younger brother–symmetry of siblings. I need to work on a poem for Thursday. So far, not sure where this will take me. Tomorrow will be a discovery.
