#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Such brightness. Waking up into this new day. Of course, in the woods, there are lady slippers. And a serene pond under sun with plenty of cattails and quiet. Some moments of disharmony. Because, this is vacation and we spend so much time together. I step down onto the wide, flat rocks in front of the house, just me, and sit in the sun where the waves lap up onto the rocks and they cannot reach me, and I’m just close enough them to feel a little wild and threatening, and also comforting and distracting. I have a conversation with a loved one and hope it goes toward healing something. And it stays in the uncomfortable zone, unresolved. And some peace surrounds it, but at the center, something raw, trying to be transformed. Something very happy and precious for today: my son, calling to check in; the lightness, the cheerful optimism in his voice; the pleasure to hear his excitement, moving on to a new adventure. My husband and I walked a bit along the water. Always, my best listener. I am very moved and touched by the tender ways he understands me. Tenderness is a wonderful energy to give to someone. I am glad to remember that and consider, how to pay it forward. Always, a fine quality to share in the world.
