#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Ice Abstract, Morning Brook

The river being rained on. Air warmer, all the leaves wet. Surprised by some lasting bits of ice in the wetlands as I passed. Enjoyed getting my sneakers a bit muddy, getting close, bending into the pictures I found today. Happy in the wet woods, happy in the wetlands, the muted colors, the drench of everything and the quiet. A lone swan swimming in her elegant slow glide by the trestle bridge. The morning said, slow, easy does it. Day after the feast. Another feast, this feast of the senses and my satisfaction. Green grass and a bittersweet berry shell of yellow, a tiny sun, in the ice just for my eyes. This cold swimming into my sinuses, making my head and thinking blurry and sleepy. A cozy indoors. I take my swim and feel better after shower and getting nicely dressed. I think I am entertaining today: sister and nieces. I will power through. But I find that only my one niece will join us for a visit and Frank orders out so I get all the rest by the fire that I need. After dinner, outside the window, we see fat flakes, fat first flakes fall in the outdoor light on over the deck. Frank throws another log on the fire. I just finished my meditation: revisiting Great Rock Bight from yesterday’s hike, the serenity of it: bringing it home.
