#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Charles River morning
Lucky for me, as old as I am, I can still change.
~ Alice Neel
Awake earlier than planned, happily so. Plenty of time to prepare for hosting my Charles River Writers. First, a lovely run. The sun quickly quickly warming up the moist ground and fall leaves, so fragrant. A return to summer-ness today, flawless blue sky. Then, flying in off my run to bake gingerbread. Why? Just a thought I had last night. An instinct. It felt right. I wanted to serve it warm with whipped cream as a surprise––and I did. I am very much enjoying hosting the workshop here. And it was such delicious weather, doors wide open today. It was so rich. This group with three new members starting to really cohere with the original members. Such wonderful writing prompted and shared. Then, another treat! (Gingerbread much enjoyed.) I went for a swim in Farm Pond with two fo the writers who LOVED swimming on the vacant beach with me. What warmth! The water wonderful, better than summer, pure, fresh, a delight. We looked across the pond at our friend’s dock and felt a pang, and mostly, gratitude. I felt a corner being turned, and I felt a strong sense of just-rightness with what is new and changed.
