Walden Pond
One short walk with the dogs, one longer – twice around a sun-washed Walden Pond with a dear friend to celebrate her birthday, as we always celebrate each other's birthdays, with an outing and a lunch. Because there is always so much to say; the real celebration is saying all the sentences we need and want to say to the person who most wants to hear them.

I have, today, one solid hour of writing. I work on my essay, trying to find structure, the way in, and, at least for today, I think I succeed by going back in time to the moment of inspiration when I had my first excited, inspired thoughts about beginning to write this piece, and why. It was January, in Florida, walking the beach in Fort Lauderdale, the beach littered with pink and blue man o' war I had to be careful to step around. It's hard to stop once I find this new beginning which is really the original idea. Tomorrow, I will see if it holds up overnight. And, if it doesn't, will look for another way.
