It's January swell

step boots into woods

enter morning of river

cross tracks over wind

rippled water below

press over the meadow dry grass even

though you'll be snagged you can't help

you'll be stung

by sleeve ripping thorns

stop  and bend   weep and  stand

your skin this will mend
