#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

I miss moss under my feet and birds in the trees outside my window waking me up. I miss seeing what the wind is, or isn’t, doing to the current of the river. I miss Frank but I had another long talk with him this morning while out for a walk. As long as we get that one good long listen to each other once a day. And then my daughter called, too, and I had a nice listen to her. Very connecting. I found some lovely blooms while walking around the Convention Center this morning, trying to get some exercise. Whoosh! The four days here have whipped by. Today the last, and a very good day. The highlight was last, this afternoon, listening to a PEN organized event, an interview with the author Jodi Picoult which I have just added to my audible wishlist, her newest novel, “By Any Other Name.'“ She was absolutely delightful, interesting and compelling. I’ve never read her books, but now I will. Jenny and I grabbed a quick dinner early. We are exhausted! Filled up, and emptied out. Hmmm. It has been a wonderful AWP. Ran into more people I knew today: a shout out to Autumn, who tapped me on the shoulder at the end of a mindfulness and writing workshop––another IWWG writer. So, up early and home tomorrow to Riverwoods, with gratitude for being in this writerly world.
