Oh my the cold, the cold lasts. I walked to the pool. About three miles, not quite. I was dry. So it was less cold. A great swim. But walked home with wet hair! Yikes. A cold blast across the open field. Still I was glad for my walk/swim. The brook is running, the wetlands filling fast. Mud season soon. Took notes for a new poem. Sent off poem for tomorrow. Tonight worked on a new poem. After making dinner. Franci came. And Wave is home. I attended an online launch for my friend Martha McCollough’s new poetry book, Trash Witch. So, a weekend filled with poetry. Thank goodness. I am reading Elizabeth Wharton’s The Custom of the Country. I miss House of Mirth––my favorite. But I won’t give up on Custom of the Country. Yet. Undine Spragg. My least favorite so far. But it’s long and so much better than the news.
