Awake at 5:00, even before the dogs. I listen to my audible book for a bit. I finished Wharton’s Age of Innocence and moved on to a reread of her House of Mirth. I had forgotten how much more I prefer House of Mirth. Lily Bart is a really dynamic and complicated character heading into trouble and more trouble and yet she is sympathetic. It’s engaging me more. Still rationing my news. I woke up with the ending for my poem to revise. Later in the afternoon opened the other I drafted very quickly this week that needs a lot of work. Today wrote a substack column and a mailchimp newsletter as well. Walked a bit on the ice. Swam a lovely swim. Had lots of time to chat with Frank. Tonight dinner with friends, again, a truly satisfying evening. The ice at our front and back doors and driveway is still treacherous. I am watching the weather to see when we will get some sun to melt this hazard. February inches toward the close. Spring a month away!
