#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Happiest Valentine’s Day I can remember. Just such a nice day, even though I was sick for most of the day. Frank and I, awake early for our last day here, had our coffee and a warm chat. Sharing appreciation of each other. Pickle ball with our gang in the humidity. It rained last night and the air was thicker than usual this morning. And there was cloud cover. Out to breakfast with Franci & Will, and I made the mistake of asking for ketchup with my eggs. It turned out to have some peppers in it, and I am allergic. The stomach ache came over me as we were on the beautiful beach in the tide pools. I thought I could walk it off, and headed home to our casa on foot about four miles of walking and dipping, dipping in walking in the sun. Trying to ignore the inevitable reaction. It just worsened, but worsened in the loveliest place on earth. I finally figured out it must have been the “ketchup.,” and accepted I’d be down for the day. Which I was. But rallied for our Valentine’s dinner out with all of us at one of our favorite restaurants. My nephew and his girlfriend joined us, and Frank got Bodie, Geoff' and Po’s grandson to hang out in his arms which made his night. Frank gave me some lovely shell earrings. A saxophone player was playing, and when Po & Geoff got up to do a slow dance, Frank and I did too. I wasn’t able to eat anything but pasta with butter, but it was truly a lovely night. And it poured! We were under cover, so it just added to the romance of the evening, our view of the wide sea, and our happy conversation and gratitude for being together. And Wave said yes, he will be my Valentine. Tomorrow. When I get home.
