#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

“I had a feeling that there were people watching what was happening and wondering, Was anyone going to say anything?” she explained quietly in an interview on Tuesday night. “Was anyone going to say anything about the turn the country’s taking?”

~ Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, Quoted in the New York Times

A hectic morning, but Wave is cheerfully out the door with a crepe. I swam but did not ski today; tomorrow will warm up and the snow will be fast. And gone soon, I suspect. It’s so January cold out there. My prompt worked really well to inspire wonderful writing in my morning workshop. Then, my Israeli therapist group, an emotional time for everyone. I picked Wave up and he said I am the best grammy because I was taking him directly to the library to meet his aunt Franci. It was lovely in the children’s room. Wave played mostly, and then Franci read him books and he didn’t want to leave. Perfect place to be on a very very very cold day. I have to say that Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde is my hero for asking Trump during the service at the National Cathedral to show mercy. Clearly, she is a woman with a conscience. And she is also a 65 year old grandmother. Not afraid to say what her truth told her to say in the moment where she could not allow herself to say nothing.
