#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Strea

Home! A day of travel and arrival. When I got to my car at Logan, after an easy flight, I was pretty jarred by the tunnel closure and confusion and traffic of trying to get home from Logan Airport. As my daughter says, who has been through this hell before, it’s evil. Felt evil, trying to find my way. Yet, I did. And blissfully, the house was clean and orderly, dinner was made, by Frank, shopping done, by Frank, and all was ease and cheer and welcome. Warm and the foliage bright. Frank and I walked before dinner, to the mailbox, to the river, to the garden. How wonderful to stretch under the big sky and the red and gold trees and the basil I picked for the tomatoes for dinner. Then, Wave arrives home too. My daughter, her boyfriend. The bustle of arrivals, dinner, the pleasure the pleasure the pleasure of being home and comfortable. On the plane I tried three times to get a poem, my poem started last week, to come. Gave up. Listened to a riveting podcast from the New York Times: The Deserter: In “The Deserter,” Sarah A. Topol reports the story of Ivan, a captain in the Russian Army who fought in Ukraine and then ultimately fled the war and his country with his wife, Anna. Topol. Riveting. Still needing to finish listening. Still don’t know if I can get a poem to come for tomorrow’s workshop. And bless you, and thank you, Kris Kristofferson, for all the music all the years.
