Grass blowing in the dunes under the light clouds. Another lovely late August day on Chappy. Up early to walk with my friends, with Kuzma and Charlie too. it’s so quiet on Chappy. The birds, the cormorants and gulls and egrets are the only ones about. We get to hike through sand and talk talk talk. Tonight, we have to wait in line at the little ferry in the car to go to Edgartown and then to my brother’s house. I’m so excited to be having dinner with my brother and his family on their deck overlooking their pond. Al their children are home and my sister-in-law Billie has been cooking all day, a tremendous meal. This is a most special evening after another wonderful day. Tomorrow is a day of transition with loved ones leaving. Tonight, we’re together and happy and grateful.
