The pleasure of clouds clearing, sun emerging after days of low clouds and rain. I felt it all over––cheerfulness and gratitude. It was only 70 degrees, but when we made it to the beach in the afternoon it felt plenty warm for a swim in the ocean. Sandcastles and digging. Lunch and relaxing. Even a short nap while being gnawed on by green flies. I had a hike with Charlie who felt much much better. Whew! Grateful for that. So glad to have some sun and beach time to share with my friend Lilia who came all the way from DC for this. A short bike ride and plenty of time for chats with everyone. Tonight, to Edgartown to welcome my friend from San Francisco who will stay a few days. I even worked a bit on revising a poem I wrote almost a year ago, early this morning before anyone was up. it’s not there yet. I will be patient with it.
