#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Tonight, watering the vegetable garden after dinner, I come face-to-face with the culprit, the baby bunny who has been chomping my plants. She blinked first. Scampered off. But soon I saw her exit and it’s where I expected it. The fence. Frank didn’t fix it well enough. I’ll get him to fix it when he gets home. This morning I hit the snooze button again and again and finally rose. It had rained last night. I went straight out to plant the plants in the middle garden. It was a big job as I had quite a few shrubs and flowers. Got it done. Then went out with my daughters and Wave so they could get coffee at Nirvana, and they came with me to the stone place where I picked up four pieces for that garden. Wave very much enjoyed seeing the big equipment. I got my newsletter out, and then had some time watching Wave at Farm Pond where I took a late swim. Not my most energetic time of day. What a lovely low breezed whisked across the surface into my face, cooling me off. Sun on my back. I heard Wave say to his mother on the beach: Mom, I love this day. And when it was my turn, later, to take him home, I had the usual trouble getting him to go. It’s boring at home, he said. We don’t have any sailboats, like those, he said, pointing to the white sails in the middle of the pond that always stir such a deep sense of pleasure and relaxation to watch. My daughter discovered this “massive” moth on the screen of my bedroom window and called for me and Wave to check it out. Later, in the car, Wave and I had a discussion about its size. I said it was a gargantuan moth. He disagreed. Dinosaurs are gargantuan. This moth was merely massive.
